This study explores the employability of Social Sciences and
Humanities graduates from the perspective of the professional
representations and expectations of undergraduate students. To
this end, 75 students (42 men and 33 women aged 19 to 24 ; x̄=
20.77; σ=1.61) enrolled in a Bachelor's degree programme in
psychology at Félix Houphouët-Boigny University were surveyed
using a questionnaire and a semi-structured interview guide.
Analysis of the data collected reveals that students' perceptions
of SSH focus on the content of the programme, the objectives
pursued and the resources needed to succeed. In addition, analysis
of the interviews reveals four dimensions of students'
professional expectations : personal development, preparation for
the profession, psychosocial support/guidance, and
internships/professional experience/career prospects. These
results show that respondents have diverse representations of SHS
and professional expectations that are more focused on training
combining theory and practice, and objective preparation for
careers through immersion internships in companies. Such results
could contribute to promoting SHS employability policies in the
current context of economic and social change. Keywords:
