This study, conducted within the SOGEFIA Riviera 2
school group, examines the relationship between negative perceptions
of the teaching profession, salary insecurity, and teacher
absenteeism. The study is based on J.S. Adams's (1963, 1916) theory of
equity. Data were collected through observation, documentary research,
questionnaires, and semi-structured interviews. An observation grid, a
reading grid, a questionnaire, and an interview guide were
consequently developed. The quantitative sample was constructed using
the reasoned choice technique. It consists of forty-six teachers,
including thirty-six men and ten women. The qualitative sample size is
five, all of whom are volunteers. The main results revealed
statistically significant links between teachers' negative perceptions
of the teaching profession and absenteeism, and between salary
insecurity and absenteeism at the SOGEFIA Riviera 2 school group.
