CNPS workers face significant professional stress for various reasons. On the one hand, the requirements of their professions in terms of human qualities (empathy, professional awareness, tolerance to frustration) and techniques (competence, speed), the high workload and short deadlines confront these employees with stress. On the other hand, the vulnerability of certain users and / or the aggressiveness, even the violence that they sometimes show, create a tense environment for CNPS employees. In this context, the present study attempts to highlight the stress management strategies adopted by the CNPS staff and establish the link between these strategies and the psychological safety of these workers. It concerns a convenience sample of 38 employees interviewed by means of a questionnaire during a training session on occupational stress management. The data collected is processed by thematic content analysis. The results obtained are interpreted using the transactional theory of stress and the psychological security model. They tend to show that CNPS employees’ resort more frequently to emotion-based stress management strategies rather than problem-centered strategies. In addition, CNPS workers who make more frequent use of problem-centered strategies have a higher psychological security than their counterparts inclined to resort to coping strategies centered on emotion.
